Following a six-week closure due to considerations relating to Hurricane Ike, The W.H. Stark House reopened Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. and resumed its normal hours of operation as posted. Please see instructions below regarding the temporary start location and parking arrangements for tours of The W.H. Stark House.
Open: Tuesday - Saturday, beginning Tuesday, November 4, 2008
Hours: 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Closed: New Year's Day, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day
Admission: $5.00 per adult (18-64 years)
$2.00 per senior (65 years and older) and per youth (ages 10 to 17 years)
Admission is limited to individuals 10 years and older. Stairs are an essential part of the tour.
Please note that, due to damage sustained as a result of Hurricane Ike (September 2008), the Carriage House of the Stark House will remain closed to the public until June 2009, at the earliest. An exact target date for reopening of the Carriage House has not yet been determined and will depend on the schedule of the reconstruction process.
NOTE: ***Beginning November 4, 2008 and continuing until the Carriage House is reopened, all tours for the Stark House will begin at the Stark Museum of Art, which is located across Green Ave. from the Stark House at 712 Green Avenue.
Visitors to the House are asked to park at the Museum parking lot, which is located across 7th Street from the Museum, one block from the Stark House. Visitors are then asked to enter the Museum lobby, which will serve as the starting point for Stark House tours, including ticketing, scheduled tour groups and related information.
In addition to visiting the Stark House, visitors are encouraged to plan their schedules to include a tour of the Stark Museum of Art, a sister program of the Stark House, as part of their visit to downtown Orange.
